Hello Shel,
Thank you for these very salient points about Mr. Jobs and his approach to responding to issues in front of the media and his customers. One current concern for me as an avid Apple user is his attitude towards the Adobe Flash format. I understand that Flash is not necessarily an ideal format, but in the interest of pragmatism and for the benefit of Apple clients, wouldn’t it be wiser for Apple to continue to stand behind Flash for the time being until html/web/mobile have a fully developed framework or viable technology that will support open source video/animation content? I can’t figure out if Mr. Jobs is simply having a love spat with Adobe or if he truly believes that jumping off the Adobe boat is the best thing for his customers right now. His comments carry considerable weight in the industry and can only serve to destabilize businesses. Or am I simply misunderstanding the whole affair? By the way, since starting to use Macs during the early days of desktop publishing, I have always associated Adobe products with the cool Apple products. What gives??
